Customized Drivers – Bespoke Acoustic Engineering
Every single driver is completely unique to Totem and proprietary in design, engineered by Totem and then manufactured to the strictest standards to meet our parameters by the finest raw driver suppliers in the world. In some cases, where the technology is beyond the capabilities of suppliers or is wished to kept secret, Totem can and will build our own drivers. Every driver exhibits phase linearity, speed, emotion, off axis natural presentation, and spatial articulation.
Handmade Crossovers – With Point-to-Point Connections
Totem crossovers don’t require many parts because of the synergy between our customized drivers, but the components are the world’s best. Our crossovers aren’t built on PCB’s because the laminated conductive tracks are weak and inconsistent. Instead they are secured to a thin piece of fiberboard or insulated polymers and components are mechanically crimped together because it simply sounds better. When we must solder, we choose WBT Silver Solder, the purest in the industry.
Artisanal Cabinet Construction – Master Craftsman Woodwork
Tribe enclosures are not built with the mass production method of the competition but with the artisanal attention of a master furniture craftsman. The slim enclosures are composed of Variable Density Fiberboard, which is denser at the extremities than the interior to reduce repetitive nodes and resonances. Each is meticulously hand assembled for peak performance that lasts decades.
Connectors – Gold Plated Bi-Wire / Bi-Amp
Two sets of high conductivity gold plated connectors efficiently capture the incoming signal for superior speaker performance and allow traditional, bi-wire, or even bi-amplification options. They accommodate a variety of connection options such as bare wire, banana plugs, and spades.
Flush Mount Wall Bracket – Clean, Easy Installation
The included bracket installs easily, firmly holds the speaker flush to the wall, and allows for both vertical and horizontal orientation.

Total ease
Totem Acoustic’s Storm offers a compact solution to bass augmentation. Like its big brother, the Thunder, the Storm has many advanced design features, yet adds a few of its own to facilitate multiple uses. The front firing driver in the Storm shares external cone topography and materials with the two flanking passive units. We believe that this contributes to a more informative and less compressed energy flow. As is the case with the upper echelon Thunder, the Storm is not only designed for cinema/surround applications, but is comfortable in a stereo or multi-channel audio environment. The Storm benefits aesthetically from a choice of Totem’s four veneers on all faces and is also available in gloss black to match the Tribe on-wall models. To enable multiple use, the Storm’s control panel has the following features:
– Automatic power down. Amplifier goes into standby when signal is absent. Reactivates automatically on signal reception
– Volume adjustment
– Variable phase dial (0° to 180°)
– 1 pair of low-level RCA inputs
– 1 pair of unfiltered low-level RCA outputs
– 2 pairs of unfiltered high-level terminal inputs
– 2 pairs of unfiltered high-level terminal outputs
– Crossover enabling/disabling switch to use low frequency management and control from processor. Allows use of a variety of speakers (mini monitors to full-range)
– Detachable power cord
The speakers require several hours of actual music playing time as a minimal break-in period. During this time, refrain from playing them at very loud levels. You will notice a definite gradual improvement in the cohesiveness of the music reproduction as this occurs. It is only through the support of advocates such as yourself that true sound can be promoted.
“With its Tribe on-wall system, Totem manages to elicit big sound from inconspicuous speakers. The Tribes can disappear into a room, keeping all but the most persnickety homeowners placated. Yet their big and inviting sound and excellent imaging capabilities are well suited to movie soundtracks and music alike”.
